Ok so heard my review I don’t often do these but this is one of those times that’s well worth it!! I recently had the pleasure of working with Mark from Black Oak Wood to build a bespoke sauna in my home, and I couldn't be happier with the results. As someone who has always enjoyed heat and cold treatments, as well as small design projects, I finally decided to take the plunge and have my own sauna built. From the beginning, Mark's passion for the ancient Japanese burnt style finish, known as sho sugi ban, impressed me. With not many craftsmen specializing in this technique, I knew I had found the right person for the job. Together, we embarked on the journey of designing and creating a unique sauna using locally felled cedar timber, sourced from a nearby tree surgery company. Throughout the process, the team, including a fantastic local electrician and the use of Finn tech, worked professionally and diligently. The end product is not only a thing of beauty, but it also perfectly showcases my design vision and, most importantly, functions flawlessly. What sets this experience apart from others is the team's commitment to cleanliness and their ability to keep their word. Unlike previous tradespeople I have worked with, they kept the workspace tidy and delivered on their promises. This made the process not only beneficial to my health but also incredibly relaxing. As someone who promotes healthy lifestyles, this space is not just for me; it represents an active philosophy and an investment in my future. I have been using the sauna 3 to 4 times a week and have enjoyed socializing and spending quality time with my family in this amazing addition to my home. If you have the space and are willing to invest in this incredible healthy technology, I highly recommend getting a sauna. It has quickly become my favorite health device, and having the Black Oak Wood team build it was an absolute pleasure.
